Installation of Minecraft Server in Linux Lite


Minecraft game is one of the oldest and most popular games in the world. In this game, one is free to explore and build anything that user wants in a 3D generated world. One can also host his own Minecraft gaming server and decide its own rules and regulation and with that server, their friends can also connect and play the interactive adventure game. In this, we are going to discuss the installation of Minecraft gaming server in the Linux Lite platform.

Installation Process             

  1. Firstly, one has to install java version on the machine with the use of following command that is shown in the screenshot below. After running that command java will be installed in the system. Java is very necessary to install within the server because, without Java, server will not execute.


2.After installation of java one can also see the java version that is installed on the machine by using following command shown in the screenshot below.


3.After that, now the next step is to download Minecraft game .jar file from its official website. One can use the “wget” command in the terminal with the URL in order to download the “server.jar” file in the server as shown below. After downloading change, the directory to “server”.


4.Now, in order to execute start the Minecraft server, one must run the following command on terminal as shown below in the screenshot. After execution of the command, it will show an error that one must agree with “eula.txt”.


5.In order to accept EULA, one has to type following command on the terminal that is “sudo nano eula.txt” as shown below.


6.After that, again run “java -Xms1024M -Xmx1536M -jar minecraft_server.jar no gui” command in the terminal.


7.After starting the server, one has to download and install Minecraft client from its official site and after that one has to click on “Multiplayer” and then enter the server IP address as shown below. 8.After that one can enjoy the Minecraft gaming experience in his own server and another user can also able to connect with this server in order to play Minecraft game in the hosted room.
